Religion of Bali
Life and culture in Bali are deeply interwoven with faith. The religion of the majority of Bali's population is called Agama Hindu Dharma (Balinese Hinduism), which is a mixture of Hinduism and ancient animistic religions of the native Balinese people. In Bali religion is omnipresent: Everywhere you can find temples, shrines and sculptures of Gods and Demons. Religious ceremonies are inherent part of everydays life.

Five times a day oblations are offered to the powers of good and evil. Therefore little plaited bowls are filled with petals, rice and joss sticks. The oblations are meant to balance the powers of good and bad. |
